Synopsis:
An
impressionistic story of a family that follows the life course of the
eldest son, Jack, through the innocence of childhood to the
disappointment of his mature years in his attempt to reconcile the
complicated relationship with his father (Brad Pitt). Jack
(as an adult, played by Sean Penn) feels like a lost soul in the modern
world, looking for answers about the origin and meaning of life, while
questioning the existence of faith. Through unique Malick's
imagery, we see how, while gross nature and spiritual grace, built not
only our lives as individuals and families, but all life.
